Matt kicked a stone out of his way. His first day as a trainer, and just his luck! There were no pokemon left, so he was traveling to Veridian city to see if he could get an abused pokemon at the Poke-center. He was far away from from pallet town, and was totally lost. All of a sudden, a shrill shriek disrupted the silence of the morning. Matt turned around just in time to see a little pink Pokemon running away from a man, brandishing a big stick at the Pokemon. He hit it on the head, and the little creature fell down, and cried. Matt hid in the bushes, swearing silently as the thorns dug into him. He was shocked to see the final blow delivered to the creaures head. The man said " Good riddens to such a pathetic creature,who can't even win a battle. I feel sorry for any one who has the empty head to rescue you." With that, he turned away from the bleeding,whimpering creature. Matt waited until the man had turned away, and disappeared. He than ran to the little creature picked it up, and nearly dropped it of shock. The poor little thing was was so under-fed and under-nourished, it was no wonder it had lost every battle. He pulled a map out of his pocket, and looked at it. Veridian city was only two miles away, and a short run. He pulled the Pokemon to his chest, put the map back into his pocket,and began running. He HAD to get this little creature to the poke-center. He wouldn't forgive himself ever if this creature died. He HAD to save it.
Chapter two: The discovery Panting, out of breath, Matt ran into the poke-center. Every-one gasped, and one person fainted, at the sight of the pink pokemon. Nurse Joy's gonna have a fit when she sees this thing. Matt thought. Ringing the bell twice at the front desk, Nurse Joy appeared, her smile disappearing when she saw the Pokemon. "What on earth did you do to this poor little thing!?!" She screamed at him. "Don't yell at me! "Matt yelled. "Yell at the jerk that was beating this thing before I rescued it!" Nurse Joy looked at the thing before taking it out of Matt's arms. "I'm sorry," She said."Let me take her." Matt looked at the pink thing before Nurse Joy disappeared behind the emergency doors. Matt collapsed into a chair, panting. A girl sitting next to him asked "Did you really rescue that thing?'' "Why would I want to do that to a Pokemon?'' Matt said. "Good point." The girl said. "By the way, my name's Colleen. What's yours?'' she asked, smiling. "Matt, nice to meet you.'' He said. ''Y'know, I heard that Pokemon's really rare.'' Colleen said."Like, one of them left.'' "Wow," Matt said. "Really?" "just a rumor.'' Colleen said. They spent the rest of the day talking. At night, Colleen gave him a blanket and curled up on the floor with her's. Waking up in the morning, Matt went up to the front desk and waited for The pokemon. After an hour, Nurse joy came out, smiling. "You can go in and see her," she said."Just don't touch her.'' Matt went into the intensive care unit, And looked at the Pokemon, his eyes widening." ''You are very lucky. This is a mew, Mewus pokeus. In English, there is only one of these pokemon in the world. I know who was beating it. A cruel pokemon gym leader named Giovanni. Be careful. He is dangerous. Very dangerous.''
