Rhyhorn Storm

by Mega Mewtwo

It was stormy one night in Vermillion City, where I lived. I was playing my Super NES in my room like I always do before bed. There was a thump on my widow, and when I opened it, a Rhyhorn jumped at me.

"Rhyhorn!" it said, growling at a shape that was slinking through the window. It was a Haunter. I picked up a flashlight and aimed it at the Haunter.

"Touche, Mr. Smart Asp!" I yelled at the Haunter.

"Ash, are you playing again?" my mom called as the Haunter slunk back down, out of my room.

"No, Mom! I'm uhh... watchin' cartoons!" I called back.

"At this hour? Go to sleep, Ash!" Mom lectured.

"Okay, mom." I called to her. I got into my Pokeball pajamas and hopped into bed. The Rhyhorn curled up by my side and went to sleep, too.

The next morning, the Rhyhorn wasn\'t by my side anymore. It wasn't in my room. It wasn't in my house.

I went to Viridian Forest to hunt for Pokemons with Misty. We found a Butterfree, a Beedrill and a Bulbasaur. Then it started to sprinkle. Then it started pouring like God was crying. We both ran home faster than a Nidoran.

It was a Saturday, so I could stay up late. I was watching Rocko's Modern Life when I was interrupted by a swirl of glowing color. It was the ghost of a Rhyhorn. Three spikes were growing on its back, just like the one I'd seen the night before.

"Rhyhorn," it whispered as it floated toward me. I was frozen in terror. Where was the little Rhyhorn? For all I knew, he wasn't there to just growl and hiss.

The sun started to creep up and light Vermillion. The ghostly Rhyhorn was fading away. It hurled itself through the window and hid in the thorn bush, away from the sun. I got dressed and ran outside. It was cold and windy that particular day. For some reason, it felt a little gloomy. There were rain clouds lurking over the entire city. They covered Vermillion like a big, gray, puffy blanket.

There was a strange sound coming from the bushes. I didn't know what to expect, another zombie Rhyhorn or a Charmander. I grabbed a Pokeball out of my pocket and shoved the bush away. There was a Flareon staring up at me. I was silent. The Flareon cocked its head.

"Flare, flare," it finally said.

I put the Pokeball away and stroked the Flareon's little head. The Flareon crawled up my arm and perched on my shoulder. I walked to Misty's house and rang the doorbell. The Flareon climbed up onto my head.

Misty greeted me with, "Nice hat, Ash!!"

"Do you like it?" I asked.

"Well, it certainly looks like a Flareon!" she said.

"That's cuz it IS a Flareon!" I said.

"I'll give you a Jolteon for it." Misty said, and pointed to the Jolteon sitting on her kitchen table.

"No thanx, already got one." I said.

"A Riachu?" she asked me.

"Got it." I responded.

"Howzabout a Rhyhorn?" she asked.

My heart nearly stopped beating. "Does it have... three spikes down its back?" I asked.

"Yup." Misty said.

"No thanx..." I said and ran home.

I put the Flareon on the bed and sat down next to it. "Flare," it said. "Flareon."

"It's 7:30, Flare. Time for Dexter's Laboratory." I told the Flareon. We watched it together and whenever I laughed, Flare laughed. I'd forgotten all about the ghostly Rhyhorn, at least until the living one climbed through my open window.

"Rhyhorn, horn, horn!" It laughed as it curled up in my lap.

The Flareon seemed to have no trouble with the Rhyhorn. In fact they acted like they knew each other. I fell asleep with Flare by my side and Rhyhorn on my tummy. When I woke up, the Rhyhorn was gone. Flare had been chocked to death.

"Flare! No! Flare!!" I yelled. I rushed down the stairs and ran to Misty's house. She was outside holding a flashlight.

"Misty! Your Rhyhorn killed my Flareon!" I growled.

"Impossible! My Rhyhorn was killed right in front of me! That @^%!$#*&#%$ Haunter killed it!" she growled right back.

"Well, if you won't admit it...!" I growled again and stormed back home and into my room.

"Bloodthirsty Rhyhorn!" I said.

"Rhyhorn...horn...horn..." echoed back at me.

"You, you, I HATE YOU!!!!!!!! YOU @!#$%^^&$#@!!!!" I screamed.

The Rhyhorn glared at me and growled. As it growled, it started to glow. I could see its teeth dripping with drool. I wasted no time. I scuttered over to the closet. I grabbed the flashlight. I aimed it at the ghost Rhyhorn, and pressed the button. Nothing happened.

"Rhyhorrrrnnn!" It laughed as it showed me the batteries it had snatched.

This Rhyhorn would be having a nice Ash-kabob in it's lair if I didn't figure something out. Slimy drool dripped from its teeth like water from a leaking faucet.

"Water! That's it!" I thought. I ran in the bathroom and filled a cup full of water. I hurried back to my room before it was too late. The Rhyhorn was escaping out the window.

"Hey, DIE horn!" I teased. "Eat this!" I yelled as I poured water on him. He dropped the batteries and howled cuz the water blinded him. I quickly stuffed the batteries back in the flashlight. "I've got a present for ya, Rhybaby!" I shouted and shined the flashlight at it.

"Rhyyyyyhorrrrnnnn!!!!!" it cried and flew out the window howling louder than a Growlithe.

"That takes care of that!" I said. Then, a paper airplane hit me in the head. I unfolded it. It was a letter from Misty.

"Yo, Ash, sorry 'bout the fight. I didn't mean to start a game of Super Smash Bros."

I sent her an airmail, too. "Yea, you're forgiven. But it was me who started the fight." I threw it to her house across the street and settled into bed. (Hey, it was 11:17!) Then I saw glowing Rhyhorn eyes in my closet.

Horn, horn, Rhyhorn (Translated, that's THE END SO FAR!!)
