Pokemon Secrets

Pokemon hide secrets from within. I hear that those secrets aren't recorded on your Pokemon Pokedex™. So, I asked DragonChariz and Mega Charizard to find Pokemon info for me, while I scrounged for other Pokemon stuff. This is going to be continued, so don't get your pants in a bundle.

Bulbasaur - Bulbasaur is a combination of grass-and-poison-type Pokmon. Grass-type Pokmon usually displayplant-like characteristics, such as the large, leafy growth on Bulbasaur's back.

Ivysaur - Once Bulbasaur reaches level 16, it evolves into the more powerful Ivysaur. Combination Pokmonhave twice the strength and twice the weaknesses of other Pokmon.

Venusaur - It is sometimes difficult to predict how combination Pokmon like Venusaur will fare in combat, that they are among the most useful and versatile Pokmon around.

Charmander - With its flaming tail, Charmander is a tough Pokmon to handle, even for a skilled trainer.

Charmeleon - Interestingly, fire-type Pokmon like Charmeleon have a distinct advantage against ice-type Pokmon, but not against water-type Pokmon.

Charizard - When Charmeleon reaches level 36, it evolves into the majestic Charizard.Starting the game with these fire-type Pokmon can be difficult, but the effort can pay off.

Squirtle - Squirtle may start out cute and cuddly, but it will soon evolve into a formidable fighter. Wartortle - Wartortle is more confident in the water than Squirtle is. Its large rudder-like earshelp it to maneuver.

Blastoise - Blastoise's tough shell conceals twin high-pressure water cannons that can pump out hundreds ofgallons per minute.

Caterpie - Once it reaches level 7, it will evolve to the nearly immobile Metapod. If you don't want a Pokmon to evolve, simply press B before the change is complete to reverse the process.

Metapod - Like Kakuna, Metapod is a kind of transitional Pokmon, and it won't stay in this form for long. Once it reaches level 10, it will evolve into Butterfree.

Butterfree - Butterfree's flying abilities make it more versatile, than some of the other Pokmon you'll findearly in your adventure.

Weedle - Weedle has only two attacks, but its sting is poisonous and its String Shot attackcan reduce an enemy's speed temporarily.

Kakuna - Kakuna is nearly incapable of moving and, therefore, it has no attack abilities whatsoever. Its only defense is the ability to harden its protective shell.

Beedrill - When Kakuna reaches level 10, it will evolve into the much more powerful Beedrill.Beedrill will eventually have the capacity to learn such attacks as Twin Needle and Pin Missile.

Pidgey - Pidgey is one of the most common Pokmon. It is classified as a combination of normal-and-flying-type Pokmon, and it can blind its opponents by kicking up clouds of sand with its wings.

Pidgeotto - You can obtain a Pidgeotto either by capturing one in the wild or by building up Pidgey up to level 18.

Pidgeot - Flying-type Pokmon such as Pidgeot are the natural enemies of bug-type Pokmon like Venonat.

Rattata - Another common Pokmon, Rattata, uses its sharp teeth to defend itself from attackers. Despite its ferocious appearance, it often shares habitats peacefully with Pidgey.

Raticate - Raticate uses its long whiskers to help navigate and maintain balance. Losing them will slow it down considerably.

Spearow - It may resemble the mild mannered Pidgey, but Spearow has a much more ferocious temperament. In a contest between the two, Spearow will likely have the upper wing.

Fearow - With its majestic wingspan, Fearow can glide for long periods of time. At higher experience levels, it can use its Mirror Move ability to duplicate an enemy's attack.

Ekans - Ekans is a silent but deadly predator. Its main source of food is Pidgey and Spearow eggs, and it is known to eat them whole, shell and all.

Arbok - At level 27, you can add a paralyzing Glare to Arbok's arsenal. At level 36, you can replace Leer with a Defense-lowering Screech.

Pikachu - These mouse-like creatures are among the most sought-after Pokmon. Trainers never keep many of them in the same place, however. If enough of these Pokmon gather in the same place, their combined voltage can trigger electrical disturbances in the surrounding atmosphere!

Raichu - Raichu is more powerful than Pikachu. It has such great electrical potential, it must use its tail as a ground to avoid shocking itself!

Sandshrew - You must trade for either a Sandshrew or an Ekans, depending on which version of the game you have. There are no Ekans in the Blue version and no Sandshrew in the Red version.

Sandslash - When threatened, Sandslash curls up into a little ball. It then rolls along the ground to attack or escape.

Nidoran (F) - The female Nidoran's barbs are smaller than the male's, but no less poisonous.

Nidorina - Nidorina prefers to use its teeth and claws in battle, rather than its spikes.

Nidoqueen - Nidoqueen's ponderous body is surprisingly agile, and its Tail Whip attack can seem to come from nowhere.

Nidoran (M) - The male Nidoran's large ears stiffen when it senses danger. You can tell the power of its poisonous venom by the size of its barbs.

Nidorino - Nidorino attacks at the slightest provocation. If will often use Focus Energy first to boost its power. Use that pause to attack before it does.

Nidoking - This creature is truly king of all it surveys. It uses its powerful tail to capture and crush its hapless prey.

Clefairy - You must search long and hard to find a Clefairy. It is found in only two places other than Mount Moon, so try your best while you're there.

Clefable - Once a Clefairy evolves into a Clefable, it won't be able to learn any more attacks, at least on its own. You may be able to teach it a new ability with a TM or an HM.

Vulpix - Vulpix is tough to find in the Blue version of the game, and it can't be found at all in the Red version.

Ninetales - As with many Pokmon, Ninetales can't be found in the wild at all. To obtain one, you must nurture a Vulpix until it evolves.

Jigglypuff - Jigglypuff's Sing attack will send even the toughest Pokmon to dreamland, leavin it open for a pounding. Looks can be deceiving, and just because a Pokmon is cute and cuddly doesn't mean it's a cream puff.

Wigglytuff - Wigglytuff's body is soft and rubbery, like a balloon. When angered, it inflates itself to an enormous size to scare off enemies.

Zubat - Zubat has no eyes, and it uses a sophisticated radar system to navigate in the total darkness beneath Mt. Moon. Its Leech Life attack will drain an opponent's energy and replenish its own.

Golbat - When it feeds on a victim's energy, Golbat tends to gorge itself. It often swells with power until it's too fat to fly.

Oddish - Oddish is just one of several combined Grass-and-Poison type Pokmon. It likes first poison or stun its opponents before it drains their energy with its Absorb attack. Gloom - Like most Grass-type Pokmon, Gloom can hardly move, but it doesn't need to move its limbs to launch an attack.

Vileplume - Gloom and Vileplume don't need to move to attack, so Paralyzing them doesn't affect their ability to fight.

Paras - The dual Bug-Grass classification of these Pokmon is readily apparent in their appearance: Paras attack opponents with bug-like claws for frontal assaults and mushroom-like pods that shoot clouds of Stun Spores, which paralyze almost any opponent. With enough battle experience, Paras evolve into Parasect.

Parasect - Parasect is actually an odd pairing of creatures: a mushroom-like parasite and a bug-like host. Parasect prefers its environment damp and dark.

Venonat - Venonat makes its home in tree branches and its attracted to bright lights, especially at night.

Venomoth - Venomoth is short on physical ability, but long on various disabling attacks. You'd better have lots of Antidote and other cures.

Diglett - The challenge with Diglett is not finding one but capturing it before it faints or runs away so make sure to keep a lower-level Pokmon with you as you head into Diglett's Cave. Another interesting trait: Diglett don't evolve, but they do band together in groups of three.

Dugtrio - Dugtrio is actually a group of Digletts that have banded together. This bonding increases their strength by several times, allowing them to tunnel deeply enough to cause earthquakes.

Meowth - If you have a Blue version of the game, look in the fields around Route 5 or 6 to find a Meowth. If you have a Red version, you must trade for one.

Persian - Persian is as clever as it is powerful, using its Growl to reduce an opponent's attack power before striking with its teeth and claws.

Psyduck - A Psyduck defeats its opponents by mesmerizing them with a piercing stare and unleashing a barrage of pent-up mental energy. These Water Pokmon are rare and are found in both the Red and Blue versions of the game.

Golduck - While Psyduck can be somewhat awkward on land, the sleek Golduck is an agile fighter both in and out of the water.

Mankey - As a Fighting-type Pokmon, Mankey is more agile than most Pokmon. It can dodge even special attacks quite easily.

Primeape - Primeape has an incredible temper, and that makes it doubly dangerous in combat. Its Karate Chop attack is formidable.

Growlithe - The elusive Growlithe can be found only on Route 7, Route 8 or Cinnabar Island. Handle combat with it carefully.

Arcanine - Arcanine's formidable arsenal of special attacks includes Roar, Ember, Leer and Take Down. Ground-, Rock- and Water-type Pokmon, however, can put out this puppy's fire.

Poliwag - Lacking arms, Poliwag sport newly grown legs and live in the water around Viridian City. To capture a Poliwag, trainers must use a rod and go fishing. Over time, Poliwag evolve into the more powerful Poliwhirl and Poliwrath.

Poliwhirl - Unlike Poliwag, Poliwhirl is fully amphibious. It uses various mental techniques to increase the power of its special attacks.

Poliwrath - When Poliwhirl evolves into Poliwrath, it gains Fighting-type characteristics. Abra - Abra lack attack abilities, but their power to teleport their way out of trouble makes them difficult to capture. They will evolve into Kadabra at level 16.

Kadabra - Kadabra relies on a strong mind rather than a powerful body to win. It can send out waves of mental energy that cause headaches at close range.

Alakazam - Experts believe that Alakazam's brain is as powerful as any supercomputer. Its incredible Psychic abilities back up that belief.

Machop - Machop are extremely agile and will often dodge specially designed attacks. Machop are among the more intelligent Pokmon and are known for their mastery of various martial arts. At level 28, Machop evolve into Machoke.

Machoke - Machoke likes bodybuilding even more than Machop, but its vanity can get in the way of its combat training.

Machamp - Machoke must be traded to another Game Pak to transform it into Machamp. It gains an extra pair of arms in the process.

Bellsprout - Bellsprout often begins a battle with Growth, which will increase the power of its special attacks. It would be wise to use your most powerful attack before Bellsprout has a chance to launch an attack of its own.

Weepinbell - Weepinbell can use its Growth ability to increase the power of its special attacks, like Poison Powder.

Victreebel - Not only can Victreebel's Wrap attack hold an opponent immobile, it can score several hits in a row.

Tentacool - Tentacool like to float in the warm, shallow waters around Pallet Town, Viridian City, and routes 12, 13, 17, and 18. Inattentive trainers often fall victim to their acidic sting, and Tentacool will evolve into Tentacruel at level 30.

Tentacruel - At level 30, Tentacool evolves into Tentacruel, growing over a dozen new, stinger-tipped tentacles in the process.

Geodue - Commonly found in fields and rocky areas, Geodude usually don't move unless they're disturbed, and they're often mistaken for a rock or boulder. At level 25, Geodude evolve into Graveler.

Graveler - At level 25, a Geodude evolves into a Graveler. As it changes, it's rocky skin develops several layers of jagged scales. These scales are chipped off in battle but are quickly replaced.

Golem - Golem tend to be much larger than Geodudes and Gravelers, so they stand out more in their surroundings. They are slow to anger but are fierce fighters when roused.

Ponyta - These horse-like Pokmon have hooves harder than diamonds, and they evolve into Rapidash at level 40. Because they are Fire-type Pokmon, Ponyta usually fare poorly against Water Pokmon in battle.

Rapidash - Rapidash's great speed allows it to strike a foe several times in a row.

Slowpoke - Everything about Slowpoke is, well, slow. Slowpoke tend to take about five seconds before responding to any sort of sensory input, including pain. These Pokmon are also extremely rare, but they're found in both versions of the game.

Slowbro - Slowbro is not likely to win any I.Q. contests, and it seems to survive by luck and instinct alone. It is so dopey, even the largest tail-biting parasites often go unnoticed.

Magnemite - Magnemite use their electrical powers to paralyze and confuse their opponents before shocking them into submission. At level 30, Magnemite bond together in groups of three.

Magneton - This machine-like Pokmon is made up of three Magnemites bonded together. They are known to become more aggressive during sunspot activity.

Farfetch'd - It looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, but it surely isn't a duck! Farfetch'd uses twigs as mini-swords.

Doduo - Though these Pokmon exhibit Flying-type characteristics, they cannot fly. However, they can run at high speed. Doduo evolve into Dodrio at level 31.

Dodrio - If two heads are better than one, then what about Dodrio's three? When Dodrio rests, two of the heads sleep while the third keeps watch.

Seel - An Arctic-dwelling type of Pokmon, Seel fight antagonists with their Aurora Beams, which cause damage by decreasing an opponent's power. At level 34, Seel evolve into Dewgong.

Dewgong - Use Dewgong's Rest ability with caution. If Dewgong does recover 100% of its HP with this ability, it will then skip two turns.

Grimer - Because Grimer consume the toxic sludge spewed out by factories, many trainers seek them out as natural pollution processing plants. At level 38, Grimer evolve into Muk.

Muk - Muk's body is so toxic that even its footprints are poisonous to the touch.

Shellder - The bratty Shellder often taunt their opponents during battle, sticking out their tongues and spitting between attacks. Shellder evolve into Cloyster if trainers use the Water Stone, and they can be found in the waters around Vermilion City, Cinnabar Island, Seafoam Island, and routes 6, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

Cloyster - Cloyster treats combat more seriously than Shellder, using its Spike cannon attack to hit its target up to five times in a row.

Gastly - No Pokmon have an advantage over these ghost-like Pokmon, making them valuable assets to a Pokmon collection. Over time, Gastly evolve into Haunter and Gengar.

Haunter - Haunter's Dream Eater attack does double duty, putting an opponent to sleep while simultaneously draining its energy.

Gengar - Both Gastly and Haunter can be found and captured in the wild, but Gengar can be obtained only by training a Haunter until it evolves.

Onix - Over time, Onix's faceted skin becomes as black as coal but as hard as a diamond. It is certainly an imposing sight in battle!

Drowzee - Though these Pokmon have a weak physical attack, Drowzee will use their psychic abilities to make other Pokmon fall asleep during combat. At level 26, they evolve into Hypno.

Hypno - Hypno survives by putting its prey to sleep and consuming their dreams. It can get sick from absorbing bad dreams.

Krabby - Krabby can be found sidling along in nearly every stream, river, and pond, using their claws for balance and protection. At level 28, Krabby evolve into Kingler.

Kingler - Though Kingler can sometimes be found in inland waterways, it much prefers the open ocean. Its powerful claws can crush solid steel.

Voltorb - Voltorb use a Screech attack to lower their opponents' defense rating before launching an electrical assault. If the odds are against a Voltorb, it may self-destruct to avoid capture. These Pokmon evolve into Electrode.

Electrode - If you can't find an Electrode in the Unknown Dungeon, look inside the Power Plant or on Cinnabar Island.

Exeggcute - These egg-like Pokmon travel in swarms, quickly surrounding and engulfing any intruders in their territory. Trainers should use the Leaf Stone to transform Exeggcute into two-legged Exeggutor.

Exeggcutor - Exeggutor's legs do it little good. This is one instance in which evolution may not be such a good idea!

Cubone - Cubone use the bones of other Pokmon to fashion crude weapons and armor, including clubs and boomerangs that they wield with deadly efficiency. At level 28, Cubone evolve into Marowak.

Marowak - Its skillful use of bones as makeshift boomerangs has earned this Pokmon the nickname "Bonekeeper."

Hitmonlee - Hitmonlee will first use its Meditate ability to boost its attack power. It then will follow up with one of any number of kicking attacks. Hitmonlee relies solely on its feet in combat.

Hitmonchan - Hitmonchan, on the other hand, uses only its fists for fighting. Hitmonchan can move so quickly, its hands appear to be mere blurs in the air.

Likitung - Though comical in appearance, Lickitung can be quite formidable. Beware of its Wrap and Supersonic attacks!

Koffing - Koffing store poison gases within their bodies, sometimes causing them to explode without warning. At level 35, these Pokmon evolve into Weezing.

Weezing - With much of its body made up of liquid rather than gas, Weezing is much denser and heavier than Koffing.

Rhyhorn - Rhyhorn's bones are one thousand times denser than a human's, giving it incredible physical power and endurance.

Rhydon - Rhydon lives far underground where temperatures reach well over 2,000 degrees. Its rock-like hide protects it from the extreme heat and pressure.

Chansey - This rare and elusive Pokmon is sought not for its battle skills but for its legendary ability to bring happiness to its trainer.

Tangela - Looking for the world like a walking plate of spaghetti or a two-legged, tail-less sheepdog, Tangela is one of the shyest Pokmon.

Kangaskhan - Using its stomach pouch, Kangaskhan carries its young everywhere, even into battle. This makes combat more dangerous, not less.

Horsea - The gentle Horsea are better at defense than offense, but unfortunately they can't take much punishment. Trainers should look for Horsea in the waters around Cinnabar Island, Seafoam Island, and routes 19, 20, and 21. Over time, Horsea will evolve into Seadra.

Seadra - At level 32, Horsea's feathery water wings become Seadra's spiked fins, capable of piercing almost any opponent's skin.

Goldeen - Their billowing fins and tails make Goldeen look like they're wearing ball gowns, which is why a Goldeen sometimes goes by the nickname The Water Queen. Goldeen can be found in several bodies of water.

Seaking - Seaking's skill with its horn increases over time. It learns Horn Attack at level 24, then Horn Drill at level 48.

Staryu - Staryu have no jointed limbs to speak of, so they use their psychic powers to move themselves around. These rare Pokmon also employ Minimize power to evade attack, and they can be found in the waters around the Blue game's Cinnabar Island, Seafoam Island, and routes 19, 20, and 21. Trainers should use the Water Stone to transform Staryu into Starmie.

Starmie - Use the Water Stone to transform Staryu into Starmie. Starmie exchanges mobility for size, relying more on its faceted skin for protection.

Mr. Mime - Some Pokmon, like Mr. Mime, do not evolve no matter how much experience they gather. Mr. Mime's psychic powers, however, do grow stronger over time.

Scyther - This frightening Pokmon seems to have just as much in common with dinosaurs as with bugs. The razor edges on its wings make its Slash attack that much more damaging.

Jynx - Jynx has an unusual combination of Ice and Psychic characteristics. Its evolution is not known at this time, though its powers do grow stronger over time.

Electabuzz - Like most Pokmon of its type, Electabuzz is drawn to strong sources of electricity, and the Power Plant is the only place you can find one.

Magmar - Magmar's skin glows steadily with a bright, orange fire.

Pinsir - Pinsir relies solely on its great strength and powerful pincers to overwhelm its foes.

Tauros - To say that Tauros is bullish in battle is no understatement. With its fiery temper and willful personality, Tauros can be a handful for even the most skilled trainer.

Magikarp - Magikarp are fish-like Pokmon that evolve into the serpentine Gyarados at level 20. Trainers will find Magikarp swimming the waters around Fuchsia City.

Gyarados - Few Pokmon evolve from a single-type to a dual-type creature. Gyarados is a rare example of this phenomenon.

Lapras - The Lapras is sometimes used as a waterborne "horse" to transport passengers across short distances. It's gentle demeanor makes it well-suited to this task.

Ditto - Ditto has the amazing ability to copy the form and powers of its opponent.

Eevee - Eevee don't evolve on their own, but trainers can use special stones to transform Eevee into three different kinds of Pokmon. The Water Stone changes Eevee into Vaporeon, a Water-type Pokmon; the Thunder Stone converts Eevee into the Electric-type Jolteon; and the Fire Stone transforms Eevee into Flareon.

Vaporeon - The Water Stone changes Eevee into Vaporeon, a Water-type Pokmon. The Leaf Stone and Moon Stone don't affect it.

Jolteon - The Thunder Stone transforms Eevee into the hair-raising Pokmon called Jolteon. Another Electric-type Pokmon would come in handy.

Flareon - Use the Fire Stone to change Eevee into Flareon. This Pokmon's Fire-type powers are a force to be reckoned with.

Porygon - Porygon's crystalline body is unusual, even as Pokmon go. Some collectors like Porygon as a showpiece and not as a fighting specimen.

Omanyte - This Pokmon must be cloned from the Helix Fossil by the Pokmon Lab.

Omastar - Scientists as yet have little data about this resurrected Pokmon.

Kabuto - Seen from above, this cunning, beetle-like Pokmon is often mistaken for a smooth river rock.

Kabutops - At level 55, Kabutops gains the powerful Hydro Pump attack.

Areodactyl - The Pokmon Lab can use the Old Amber from the Pewter City Museum to clone a new Aerodactyl.

Snorlax - Snorlax enjoys sleeping more than anything, and will often lie down at the first open spot.

Articuno - The Zapdos in the Power Plant was the first of three mystical, Flying-type Pokmon you'll find, with Articuno being the second. It, too, is waiting in plain sight.

Zapdos - Zapdos has a unique and powerful combination of Electric-type and Flying-type characteristics. Approach it at your own risk!

Moltres - Moltres appears so rarely, most people think it's only a myth. If spotted, it disappears in a flash of fire.

Dratini - Dratini takes much longer than most Pokmon to evolve. It must reach level 30 before it changes into Dragonair.

Dragonair - Most of Dragonair's abilities, like Wrap, Agility, Slam and Dragon Rage take advantage of its long sinewy body.

Dragonite - It's likely that many fairy-tale dragons were inspired by this winged beast's ancient kin.

Mewtwo - Mewtwo was created in the Pokmon Lab on Cinnabar Island. Scientists tried to create the perfect fighting machine, and they succeeded - perhaps too well. Mewtwo is extremely hostile and can't stand being in a Pok Ball.

Mew - Still thought to be mere rumor in many parts of the world, Mew has only been seen in captivity a few times. The most amazing aspect of this ultra-rare Pokmon is that it possesses the ability to learn every single TM an HM ever created. As a result, Mew is extremely sought after by collectors.

NEW POKéMON.....COIMNG SOON TO MEGA MEWTWO'S POKéMON PALACE!!!
